Housing is allocated depending on your arrival date and employment position. Once you receive your Offer of Employment letter, a housing application form must be filled out and sent to the housing department prior to your arrival.
During the summer season, all Lake Louise Ski Resort staff is housed in our main accommodations – Charleston. All of our Great Divide Lodge staff is housed at the Great Divide Lodge.
During the winter season, due to large staffing numbers employees are housed at several different locations. These include Charleston Residence, The Great Divide Lodge, the Chateau, and other local accommodations. If you are arriving earlier in the season, you are most likely to be housed at Charleston Residence.
Our staff accommodations in Lake Louise and Great Divide are in a fairly remote location as Banff is 40 minutes away. Lake Louise has several amenities including a grocery store, restaurants, bar and other small local shops.
All employees are required to sign a Tenancy Agreement outlining the rules and regulations of LLSA Staff accommodation.
Prior to Check In
Documents required prior to your arrival:
1. To secure housing you are required to fill out, fax or email the housing application to the Housing office. It’s best to be honest as this will affect your housing placement. Please remember that this form is an application, this does not guarantee you a place in staff accommodation until you hear back from the Housing department with confirmation.
Check In
Upon arrival in Lake Louise, make your way to the Housing office for check in. The Housing office is located on the first floor of Charleston Residence, the large log building past the Petro Canada and RCMP building (police station).
Check-in times are between 8:30am and 5:30pm daily. Unfortunately, the housing coordinators are unable to check staff in outside these hours. Please note you will only be eligible to move into staff housing 48 hours prior to your start date.

Rent
All entry level positions are assigned shared accommodations. Rent varies between $10.00-$13.00 per person, per night. Eligibility for single room and couple rooms will depend on tenure, job position and room type availability. Rent is automatically deducted from your pay cheque on a bi-weekly basis and includes utilities, except for internet.

Please be aware that due to the shared nature of our accommodations personal storage space may be limited.
Linen
Tenants can purchase linen from the housing office however you can also bring your own. At the end of the season you can donate your linen to charity at the housing office. All purchases can be made by cash, debit and credit cards. Items for sale and prices (including GST) include the following:

Type One Accommodation – Charleston Residence (Winter and Summer)
Charleston Residence is located in the village of Lake Louise, approximately a five minute drive (3km) from the ski hill.

Common Room:
The Common Room is a space for residents to use the pool table, table tennis, darts and shuffle board. Satellite television and computers with internet are also available. There is an outside deck with tables and BBQ’s available. Basketballs, tennis racquets, volleyballs, hockey sticks, and board games are available to borrow from the housing office.
Food and Cooking Facilities:
Each unit is equipped with a small kitchen and appliances. The co-op also provides some grocery items as well as your basic day-to-day needs. It is located on the main floor of the Charleston Residence. Opening hours for the COOP are 8:30am-10:00pm (winter hours), and 8:30am-9:00pm (summer hours). Please note: The resort does not offer meal plans.
Internet:
Wireless internet is available throughout Charleston and you can register at the housing office or online. Plans expire after the specified time frame and unused GB do not transfer to the next plan you purchase.
Laundry:
The laundry rooms include washers and dryers; they are available on all three floors. The cost is $2.00 per wash and $2.00 per dry.
Parking:
Parking is provided for tenants at Charleston free of charge. A parking form must be filled out and a space is allocated. Cars found in other tenants’ spots will be towed at the owner’s expense. If the vehicle is not removed upon checkout, you will forgo your security deposit of $200.
You will be required to get a Park Pass while living in Banff National Park. Please see housing for the appropriate paperwork to take to Parks Canada.
Type Two Accommodation – The Great Divide Lodge (GDL) (Winter and Summer)
The Great Divide Lodge is a guest hotel owned and operated by the Lake Louise Ski Resort. It is located 15 minutes west of Lake Louise at the summit of the famous Kicking Horse Pass in Yoho National Park. The 50 room hotel and hostel style accommodation overlooks the Canadian Rockies and Wapta Lake. More information regarding the Lodge can be found on our website – http://thegreatdividelodge.com.
Staff will be accommodated at GDL typically if your job is based at GDL itself. However, as stated above some employees may have to live there temporarily during the season whilst the housing coordinators work on allocating more accommodation at the Charleston Residence.
If you are placed at GDL, you will be assigned a shared room for the cost of $10.00 per night. Staff accommodated at GDL will still have access to all Charleston facilities.

There is a fully fitted kitchen available for employees use and you also receive a 20% discount off the restaurant dinner menu. Other items such as BBQs and microwaves are provided for staff.

Laundry facilities are available and located next to the kitchen area on the ground level of the Wapta building.

Parking stalls are available for all staff members. You will be required to get a Park Pass while living in Banff National Park.
Type Three Accommodation – Chateau (Winter Only)
The Chateau is one of our leased accommodations for entry level employees; most staff starting in December will be living at the Chateau. It contains ten shared accommodation units. Shared accommodation is $10.00 per night. Staff accommodated at the Chateau will still have access to all Charleston facilities as well as staff transportation.

There is a small cooking area for staff use. We do find most of our staff takes advantage of the convenience to eat most evening meals either at Stables Pub or Temple pizza due to limitation of the cooking facilities. Staff f&b discounts do not apply at these locations.
